Slowing Down, Nurturing and Taking a Break
Everywhere I look right now I notice glimmers of magic.
I talk a lot about slowing down. About taking the time to notice and to savor. But I’m not always good at it. Often the universe has to force my hand. Two years in a row I sprained my ankle as spring was ramping up. Over the winter I broke my toe. Two weeks ago I came down with covid.
SLOW DOWN!
I still don’t have my energy back. But I’m not fighting it. I’m slowing down.
I’m nurturing myself. Paying attention to all those glimmers of magic and savoring a season of learning, experimentation and play.
I’m also going to take a little break from my blog. I know last month I said that although I’m rethinking my business, I’m not going to stop blogging.
It’s still true. But I need a break. I want a little more quiet. Focus.
I’ll be back and I’ll have so much to tell you.
I hope you’re taking things slow, too. Not because you have to, but because you want to savor your days.
Before I go, I want to leave you with a little bit of inspiration to help you nurture, slow down and savor, too:
While I was sick, Adriene’s Yoga for Sick Recovery was just what I needed to stretch my aching body.
Ruth Reichl’s The Paris Novel was a delightful fantasy getaway and an inspiration to truly savor life.
I just got my copy of the new issue of Strawberry Moon Magazine in the mail. It’s huge! And looks amazing. So much inspiration!
Sarah from Pepo Studio recently shared a letter to creatives who Choose Peace Over Profit. A refreshing point of view.
One of my favorite things about my garden (and my studio) is watching all the birds who visit. I’ve had so many visitors as the migrating birds return. I’m constantly trying to learn more birds and the Merlin App has helped so much (the audio ID is such fun!).
And since I haven’t done a garden tour yet this year, you might enjoy watching Ramona’s latest tour of her garden.
Take care, slow down and keep noticing that magic.
