Vining Clematis and Painted Lady Butterflies: Garden Delight for the 2022 Tea Towel Calendar
Designing a tea towel calendar each year has become a tradition for me. This is the 6th year I’ve created one.
Each year I also revise my past years’ designs with new dates (all but the clematis calendar are available with new dates on Spoonflower now).
These tea towel calendars are some of my most popular products from Spoonflower.
Each of my tea towel calendar designs was created to coordinate with my other fabrics. This year’s coordinates with my Watercolor Clematis Vine pattern (which is available in a large scale and a small scale).
It also coordinates with two patterns I created to be canvases for embroidery embellishments. One that’s perfect for a 6-inch embroidery hoop (purchase it as a “test swatch”):
And another that’s the same size as Spoonflower’s tea towels (printed as a fat quarter of fabric):
It’s been so fun to create a collection of fabric designs and products based on my watercolor clematis paintings (originals and prints are available in my shop).
What’s super exciting is that this year Spoonflower is offering their tea towel calendars (and other designs) as wallhangings. These wallhangings come with magnetic wooden hangers. Both the embroidery template wallhanging (also available unfinished as fabric yardage) and the clematis tea towel calendar (also available as unfinished fabric) are available in my Spoonflower shop.
What sorts of creative traditions are part of your year? Do you make calendars or holiday cards or is there some other project you tackle each year? I’d love to hear about it.
