This botanical watercolor print depicts original watercolor painting depicts a pink-flowered clematis vine, a clump of blooming chives and a stem of catmint, combined together in a joyful composition. It’s a reproduction of my original painting, a celebration of what was blooming in my garden one spring day.

Gathering inspiration from the garden is one of my greatest pleasures. I study what’s in bloom and then bring a collection up to my studio to paint. Combining multiple plants in one piece captures the moment like a snapshot while also celebrating the abundance of the garden.

I take great care with the whole print-making process, from scanning the image to resizing it to checking the colors and printing test prints, it's a long process that yields a beautiful result. The velvet fine art paper is textured and matte made from 100% cotton fibers. The texture is somewhere between that of cold pressed and hot pressed watercolor paper, a little less tooth than the former and a little more tooth than the latter. It reproduces my paintings beautifully.
