This archival fine art print reproduces my original painting of a yellow and pink flowered orchid plant in a clay pot.

The painting was inspired by one of the many orchids growing in my studio. With icy wind whipping past my window and no flowers blooming in my outdoor garden, I couldn’t resist painting it.

The plant’s flowers are a glowing yellow with delicate pink veining. Three blossoms are open with buds promising more to come. Its roots twist and wind in the clay pot and sneak out of its confines.

Even if you don't grow your own orchids, this print will give you a connection to the natural world. And it will keep blooming and blooming long after the flowers on a living plant have faded.

I take great care with the whole print-making process, from scanning the image to resizing it to checking the colors and printing test prints, it's a long process that yields a beautiful result. The watercolor paper I use is textured and matte made from 100% cotton fibers. The texture is somewhere between that of cold pressed and hot pressed watercolor paper, a little less tooth than the former and a little more tooth than the latter. It reproduces my paintings beautifully.

The prints measure 4 inches by 6 inches, 5 inches by 7 inches or 8 inches by 10 inches and are ready to be framed.
