This botanical watercolor print reproduces my original painting of three faded tulip flowers. It is available in three sizes 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10 to fit in just the right place in your home.

Tulips are one of the most changeable flowers I know. They have such movement. As cut flowers you can study them, watching their petals open and close, their stems bend one way and then another. Eventually the petals collapse, shrivel. Their color changes. Such drama!

I studied these three tulip flowers before painting them and was most intrigued by their faded forms. Their reds have deepened. Their subtle veining has intensified. They’re beautiful in their decay.

I take great care with the whole print-making process, from scanning the image to resizing it to checking the colors and printing test prints, it's a long process that yields a beautiful result. The velvet fine art paper is textured and matte made from 100% cotton fibers. The texture is somewhere between that of cold pressed and hot pressed watercolor paper, a little less tooth than the former and a little more tooth than the latter. It reproduces my paintings beautifully.
